Judge Paul G. Hyman, Jr. has consented to serve as a recalled bankruptcy judge in the Southern District of Florida pursuant to the regulations promulgated by the Judicial Conference of the United States and the rules adopted by the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council.
The Judicial Council and Chief Bankruptcy Judge Laurel M. Isicoff have determined that the services of a recalled bankruptcy judge are needed by the Southern District of Florida.
Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 155(b), Judge Paul G. Hyman, Jr. is recalled into service as a United States Bankruptcy Judge in the Southern District of Florida for a three-year term effective January 4, 2018, and subject to an annual certification by the Chief Bankruptcy Judge. After Judge Hyman’s successor is sworn in, Judge Hyman will continue to provide a substantial service in this district, with respect to judicial settlement conferences that he has regularly, and successfully, conducted at no cost to the litigants over the past 15 years.
Judge Hyman is authorized to serve at all locations at which the Southern District of Florida conducts bankruptcy cases. Judge Hyman is authorized as a bankruptcy judge and may exercise all of the powers and duties of the office of bankruptcy judge.
